1. Do Peruvian citizens need ETIAS?

✓ Yes — once ETIAS becomes operational
  • You are travelling on an eligible Peru passport
  • Your trip is a short stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period
  • You are visiting one or more of the 30 ETIAS countries
  • You are travelling for tourism, business, transit or another permitted short-stay purpose

ETIAS is a travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers. It is not a visa and approval does not itself guarantee entry at the border.

2. Passport rules for Peru

Apply with the Peruvian passport you will actually carry on the trip. ETIAS is electronically linked to that travel document.

The ETIAS authorisation will be electronically linked to the passport used in the application. If that passport expires or is replaced, a new ETIAS will normally be required.

ETIAS for travellers from Peru

  • ETIAS applies to eligible short stays for tourism, business and transit.
  • The 90/180-day rule remains the limit for short stays in the participating area.
  • A replacement passport can require a new ETIAS because the authorisation is linked to the travel document.
