1. Do Argentine citizens need ETIAS?

✓ Yes — once ETIAS becomes operational
  • You are travelling on an eligible Argentina passport
  • Your trip is a short stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period
  • You are visiting one or more of the 30 ETIAS countries
  • You are travelling for tourism, business, transit or another permitted short-stay purpose

ETIAS is a travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers. It is not a visa and approval does not itself guarantee entry at the border.

2. Passport rules for Argentina

Apply using the Argentine passport you will carry for the trip. ETIAS will be electronically linked to that document.

The ETIAS authorisation will be electronically linked to the passport used in the application. If that passport expires or is replaced, a new ETIAS will normally be required.

  • Spain and Italy are common gateways, but ETIAS applies across participating destinations.
  • ETIAS does not change the 90/180-day short-stay limit.
