2. Who needs ETIAS for Denmark?
Travellers from eligible visa-exempt countries will need ETIAS for short trips to Denmark once the system is operational. Document-specific conditions can apply to some passports.
3. Arriving in Denmark
The ETIAS requirement is linked to your eligibility and travel document. The border procedure can differ depending on how and from where you arrive.
Copenhagen Airport is Denmarkβs main international gateway, with Billund also serving many routes. External-border arrivals use the applicable ETIAS and EES process.
Denmark is connected to Germany by road and rail and to Sweden by the Γresund link. These are Schengen routes, though travellers should still carry the ETIAS-linked passport.
Ferries and cruise ships are important entry routes. The border procedure depends on the origin of the vessel and whether it arrives from inside or outside Schengen.
4. Border and territory notes
Denmark is in Schengen, but the Faroe Islands and Greenland are outside the Schengen Area and have separate entry arrangements.
Practical information
Denmark uses the Danish krone (DKK). ETIAS for Denmark does not automatically determine entry rules for Greenland or the Faroe Islands.
