3. Arriving in Czechia

The ETIAS requirement is linked to your eligibility and travel document. The border procedure can differ depending on how and from where you arrive.

By air

Prague VΓ‘clav Havel Airport is the main international gateway. Travellers arriving from outside Schengen use the applicable ETIAS and EES border process.

By land or rail

Czechia has extensive road and rail connections with Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia. These are internal Schengen borders, though temporary checks can still be introduced.

By sea

Czechia is landlocked and has no sea border. River and overland itineraries still require travellers to satisfy the same ETIAS and Schengen rules.

4. Border and territory notes

Czechia is fully in the Schengen Area. A valid ETIAS is linked to the traveller and passport, not to a specific Czech border crossing or transport mode.

Practical information

Czechia uses the Czech koruna (CZK), not the euro. The 90/180-day limit is calculated across the whole Schengen Area.
