3. Arriving in Norway

The ETIAS requirement is linked to your eligibility and travel document. The border procedure can differ depending on how and from where you arrive.

By air

Oslo Gardermoen is the main international gateway, with Bergen, Stavanger and other airports also receiving international traffic. External-border arrivals use ETIAS and EES where applicable.

By land or rail

Norway shares internal Schengen borders with Sweden and Finland and an external Schengen border with Russia. Border procedures vary according to the route.

By sea

Cruise and ferry travel is common in Norway. Arrivals from outside Schengen are subject to external-border processing in addition to ETIAS eligibility.
