1. Do Singaporean citizens need ETIAS?

✓ Yes — once ETIAS becomes operational
  • You are travelling on an eligible Singapore passport
  • Your trip is a short stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period
  • You are visiting one or more of the 30 ETIAS countries
  • You are travelling for tourism, business, transit or another permitted short-stay purpose

ETIAS is a travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers. It is not a visa and approval does not itself guarantee entry at the border.

2. Passport rules for Singapore

ETIAS will be linked to the Singapore passport submitted in the application. Use that same valid passport when travelling.

The ETIAS authorisation will be electronically linked to the passport used in the application. If that passport expires or is replaced, a new ETIAS will normally be required.

ETIAS for travellers from Singapore

  • ETIAS is not a visa and does not replace normal border checks.
  • The authorisation can be used for eligible trips to participating countries while valid.
  • The 90/180-day rule remains separate from ETIAS validity.
